Mariko Kosaka

I'm an engineer dedicated to empowering web developers to build exceptional web applications.

For eight years, I served as a Developer Relations Engineer at Google Chrome, where I focused on bridging the gap between complex web technologies and the developer community.

My work has involved speaking at numerous web engineering conferences, authoring technical articles, and appearing on the Chrome Developers YouTube channel.

Most recently, I gave a talk on the intricacies of Web Platform features and the benefits of the Baseline project for web developers.

My four-part blog series, "Inside look at modern web browser" exemplifies my ability to distill complex systems into understandable and engaging content. I strive to make technology topics both fun and friendly while maintaining technical accuracy and depth.

I am open to fully remote or NYC hybrid positions. For inquiries, please email me to connect!

Japanese for little children

In 2024, I became a certified instructor for teaching Japanese to young children (日本語リトミック指導者).

As a passion project, I volunteer by hosting language class and playdates for families with Japanese heritage in NYC.

Knitting with Code

My personal projects and past conference presentations often blend technology with knitting and fiber arts. My initial foray into technical writing and conference speaking began with presentations on hacking knitting machines and developing supporting software.

While my move to Connecticut meant closing my fiber studio in Bushwick, my "knitting with code" endeavors are on hold for now.
